Ivermectin belongs to a class of drugs called anthelmintic (antiparasitic).
Ivermectin Ph. Eur. is a mixture of Ivermectin B1a & B1b. Semi-synthetic product derived from a fermentation product.
It is used in veterinary for a treatment of parasitic and worm infections in animals mainly heartworm and acariasis.
In human medcine it is used to treat river blindness (onchocerciasis), head lice, scabies, strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, lymphatic filariasis and ascariasis.
