Erythromycin is an antibiotic used for the treatment of various bacterial infections in veterinary and human medicine. 


Erythromycin Ph. Eur. is a mixture of macrolide antibiotics produced by a strain of Streptomyces erythreus.


Erythromycin can be used to treat bacteria responsible for causing infections of the skin and upper respiratory tract, including Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Haemophilus and Corynebacterium genera.
